Advocacy

The Texas Social Studies Supervisors Association (TSSSA) acts as an advocate for the core mission of public education as outlined in the Texas Education Code that states, the "primary purpose of the public school curriculum is to prepare thoughtful, active citizens who understand the importance of patriotism."  In order to fulfill that purpose, members and leaders of TSSSA are urged to model active citizenship by taking positions for education policies that support our shared mission of improving social studies curriculum in Texas.
